Karan Johar recently made headlines when he sold a 50 per cent stake in Dharma Productions to Serum Institute’s CEO Adar Poonawalla. While it is still unclear as to why the ace director was looking for an investor, the move got everyone talking. Amidst this move, he took to his Instagram and shared a cryptic post where he talked about competition.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Karan Johar shared a cryptic post. He did not address the development, but the update has sent his fans into a state of frenzy. The post read, “Competition happens at the bottom. The people at the top are collaborating.” Fans believe that the post hints at the semi-acquisition of Dharma by Adar Poonawalla.

For the uninitiated, Adar Poonawalla acquired 50 percent of Dharma Productions earlier this week. The pharmaceutical magnate invested in the production company in his personal capacity. Johar will take care of the creative aspects of Dharma and also take on the role of Executive Chairman. Earlier, the director found himself in the headlines after Divya Khossla accused him of manipulating the box office figures of Jigra. On the work front, Johar’s last directorial was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. He has not announced his upcoming directorial as of now.
