In Delhi, the IMD reports a slight dip in temperatures as mild cold weather sets in. The capital’s air quality, which had earlier reached hazardous levels, showed improvement on Saturday with an AQI of 274, down from over 400 earlier in the week.

Cyclone Dana’s intensity has significantly decreased, although its effects linger in states such as Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain is expected in parts of Odisha and West Bengal today. The cyclone brought heavy rainfall to coastal regions, especially in West Bengal and Odisha, yet there were no major damages or casualties reported. Several other states, including Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Bihar, also felt the storm’s impact in the form of light rain and strong winds.

Delhi Weather and Air Quality

In Delhi, the IMD reports a slight dip in temperatures as mild cold weather sets in. The capital’s air quality, which had earlier reached hazardous levels, showed improvement on Saturday with an AQI of 274, down from over 400 earlier in the week. Delhi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C and the minimum at 18.6°C on Saturday, with clear skies and sunshine expected today. IMD forecasts that air quality may remain stable for the next two to three days, though it typically drops following Diwali celebrations.

Weather in Bihar and Jharkhand

Although Cyclone Dana impacted Bihar and Jharkhand with recent rain, no further rainfall is anticipated here for now. Temperatures are expected to hover around 30°C during the day and 24°C at night. However, recent rains caused temperatures in Ranchi to dip to 22.4°C, around three degrees below average.

Rain Forecast and Alerts

IMD confirms that no major rain alerts have been issued across the country today. Light, scattered rainfall may occur in Kerala, southern Tamil Nadu, and Lakshadweep, with occasional showers expected in Odisha and West Bengal. On Saturday, Odisha’s Balasore district recorded 240 mm of rainfall, while West Bengal’s 24 Parganas received 170 mm, and Jharkhand’s Pakur district reported 80 mm.
