Calibration trials completed
The calibration process for Jewar International Airport was conducted successfully between October 15 and 18, 2023. This process involved testing the runway and landing systems by conducting continuous calibration flights over four to five days. These tests were deemed successful, and the complete data has been submitted to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The trials were part of the meeting held on October 1, 2023, which involved key officials from the Airport Authority, Wildlife Agency, and DGCA. During the meeting, it was decided to proceed with flight scheduling for the airport’s operations.
After the month-long trials, a final test flight, including the full crew, will be conducted. The accumulated data from these trials will be uploaded to the DGCA’s website, and an application for the aerodrome license will be submitted by December 20, 2023. The license is expected to be issued by March 20, 2024, after which the airport will become operational.
On the first day of operation, three international flights and 25 domestic flights are expected to take off, with cargo flights also being planned.
