Weather Update: IMD issues rainfall alerts for southern India; Check the full forecast here

The India Meteorological Department has warned that isolated heavy rainfall is expected to occur over Southern India over the next four to five days. Rainfall alert in Southern India

The IMD has forecasted that there could be isolated heavy rains in Puducherry, Karaikal, and Tamil Nadu on 18 October, 20 October, and 21 October. South Interior Karnataka is likely to receive it from 18 October to 22 October. Mahe and Kerala may get it on 22 October and 23 October. On the other hand, moderate rainfall is likely to prevail in Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Yanam, and Rayalaseema for this week.

Weather forecast for Western India

Heavy downpour is predicted to occur in Kutch and Saurashtra on 20 October and 21 October while the Gujarat region is likely to experience the same weather pattern on 19 October and 20 October. Moreover, light showers are expected to happen in Goa, Konkan, and Madhya Maharashtra for the next five days. Gujarat and Marathwada may witness a similar weather pattern for next week.

Delhi Weather Update

The Met Department has notified that there may be a clear sky on Friday and the temperatures will range from 35 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius. The national capital continues to experience a fourth continuous day of ‘poor’ air quality. As per air quality indicators, 13 monitoring stations across Delhi remain in the ‘red zone category’.
