Traffic in south and central Delhi will be affected on Sunday (October 20) as the Delhi Half Marathon will rule the roads for about six hours in the morning, until around 11 am.

More than 35,000 participants are expected to participate in the event, starting from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium around 4:45 am. The Half Marathon -that is, a distance of 21.09 kilometers – will start at 5 am. The elite races of men and women will be held at 6:50 am. There will also be a 10 km open run starting at 7:30 am from Jeevan Deep Building on Sansad Marg.

Diversions will be made at several places including the fourth Avenue-Bhisham Pitamaha Marg junction under the Sewa Nagar flyover, Kotla traffic signal, Jor Bagh Colony Road and other various junctions along the way.

As such, commuters would want to prepare their travels with as much foresight as possible so as to avoid the affected roads and use the suggested alternative routes for the contribution towards this great celebration of fitness.
