India made the highest T20I by a Test-playing nation as they posted a total of 297 runs riding on Sanju Samson’s maiden T20I ton, before limiting the visitors to a score of 164/7.

Samson made 111 runs in 47 deliveries smashing a plethora of records as he became the second fastest Indian to the century mark in T20Is. Suryakumar Yadav added 75 runs off 35 deliveries to propel his side towards the mammoth total.

Samson and Suryakumar also added 173 runs for the second wicket, before the wicketkeeper-batsman was scalped by Mustafizur Rahman.

Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag piled further misery on the Bangladesh bowling unit as they added a quickfire 47 off 18 deliveries and 34 off 13 deliveries respectively to push the total up further.

Bangladesh’s bowling unit cut a sorry figure as they leaked runs aplenty in every phase of the game as the Indian batting order whacked the bowlers all around the park.

India started the defence of their total in stunning fashion too as pacer Mayank Yadav removed opener Parvez Hossain Emon with the very first delivery of the innings.

Washington Sundar scalped Tanzid Hasan for 15 runs off 12 deliveries in the fourth over of the innings before Najmul Shanto fell to Ravi Bishnoi.

Liton Das and Towhid Hridoy added a 53-run stand for the fourth wicket before Bishnoi scalped Das eight runs shy of his half-century.

Bishnoi became the youngest Indian bowler to pick up 50 T20I wickets with the scalp of the opposition’s wicketkeeper-batter.

Mahmadullah, playing the final T20I of his career, was dismissed by Yadav for 8 runs off 9 deliveries. Bangladesh lost wickets in a cluster as Mahedi Hasan and Rishad Hossain fell cheaply for 3 runs and a duck respectively to Nitish Kumar Reddy and Bishnoi, who completed his three-fer on the day.

Hridoy remained unbeaten on 63 runs, but scaling the mammoth target always remained an uphill battle that the visitors couldn’t fathom reaching as India limited the touring side to 164 runs to clinch the game by a huge 133-run difference to wrap up the series.
