Applying for a new FASTag: Here are 5 steps to register for a new FASTag in India

Registration for a new FASTag: Toll booths or toll plazas are common pit stops along major cities and connected routes around the country on the highways. Previously, toll tax payments could be made in cash or online. Later, in 2014, NHAI introduced the FASTag in the country. It is a tag, which is affixed to your vehicle and allows an automatic deduction of toll charges using the RFID technology.

The RFID technology used on the FASTag makes toll payments from a prepaid account linked to it directly. It facilitates more immediate toll payments by being attached to the windscreen of the vehicle. The tag has a validity of five years. Recharging or topping it up according to needs or trip plans is all that’s required after purchase.
