The government is set to release the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme today (October 5). As part of this initiative, over 9.5 crore small and marginal farmers across India will receive a direct cash transfer of Rs 2,000 each, amounting to a total disbursement of Rs 20,000 crore.
This direct benefit transfer, the third installment of 2024, marks a significant step in supporting the agricultural sector and providing financial assistance to farmers who own up to two hectares of land. The previous installment was disbursed on June 18, with more than 9.25 crore farmers receiving Rs 2,000.
The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in 2019, aims to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers by offering Rs 6,000 annually, distributed in three equal installments.
How farmers can check eligibility and enrollment
Farmers who are unsure of their eligibility or want to check if they are already enrolled in the PM-KISAN scheme can easily verify their status. By following these steps, they can access the beneficiary list:
– Visit the official PM-KISAN website
– Navigate to the beneficiary list page
– Enter details such as the state, district, sub-district, block, and village
– Click on “Get Report” to view the list and check if their name is included
In addition, the local Panchayats also display the beneficiary list for easy access.

– Submit the OTP received on the registered mobile number to complete the process
Biometric-based eKYC
Biometric authentication can be completed at over four lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State Seva Kendras (SSKs) across the country. Farmers need to visit the nearest center with their Aadhaar card and Aadhaar-linked mobile number for authentication. A convenience fee of Rs 15 is charged for the service.

In addition to these methods, farmers can check their eKYC status using the KYS module on the PM-KISAN portal or through the Kisan-eMitra AI chatbot.
