Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express schedule revised by East Central Railway – Check timings, stops, ticket price and more

Originally operating six days a week except Thursdays, the frequency of this semi-high-speed train has been revised.

The schedule for India’s 49th Vande Bharat Express, connecting Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, has been updated by Indian Railways. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 12, 2024, this semi-high-speed train is operated and maintained by the South Eastern Railway (SER) zone.

The Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express covers a distance of 536 km in just 7 hours and 50 minutes, making it the fastest train on this route, compared to the Ranchi-Banaras Express, which takes 12 hours and 50 minutes to cover 575 km.

Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Revised schedule 

Originally operating six days a week except Thursdays, the frequency of this semi-high-speed train has been revised. The East Central Railway (ECR) announced that the days of operation for the semi-high speed train will change from operating six days a week, excluding Thursdays, to running six days a week excluding Tuesdays, effective December 3, 2024.

Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Stoppages

During its journey, it stops at seven stations: Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Parasnath, Koderma Junction, Gaya Junction, Sasaram, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.

Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Timings

The Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express departs from Ranchi at 05:10 hrs and arrives in Varanasi at 13:00 hrs. On its return journey, it leaves Varanasi Junction at 16:05 hrs and reaches Ranchi at 23:55 hrs.

The train, numbered 20887/20888, consists of 8 coaches, offering two types of seating: AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car.

Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Ticket Prices

For travel between Ranchi and Varanasi, the fare is set at Rs 1,505 for the AC Chair Car and Rs 2,725 for the Executive Chair Car. For the return journey from Varanasi to Ranchi, the fares are Rs 1,450 for the AC Chair Car and Rs 2,675 for the Executive Chair Car.
