Kolkata Metro update: 288 services on Sasthi, late-night operations during Durga Puja

On the Dakshineswar-New Garia stretch, trains will operate from 12:55 pm to 1:02 am and again from 3:38 am to 4 am on the key festival days of Saptami and Astami-Navami.

To accommodate the festive rush during Durga Puja, the Metro Railway Kolkata will enhance its operations significantly. On October 10 and 11, a total of 248 services will be available, with trains running until 4 am on the North-South corridor.

On the Dakshineswar-New Garia stretch, trains will operate from 12:55 pm to 1:02 am and again from 3:38 am to 4 am on the key festival days of Saptami and Astami-Navami.

On Dashami (October 12), the metro will run 174 services from 1 pm to midnight to cater to the celebratory crowd.

Kicking off the festival on Sasthi (October 9), the Kolkata Metro plans to run 288 services from 6:50 am until midnight.

Service Breakdown

  • Green Line – 1 (Sector V to Sealdah):
    • 64 services on Saptami-Ashtami/Navami
    • 48 services on Dashami
    • 106 services on Sasthi
  • Green Line – 2 (Howrah Maidan to Esplanade):
    • 118 services on Saptami-Ashtami/Navami
    • 80 services on Dashami

These enhanced services aim to ensure smooth and convenient travel for the thousands of devotees and tourists participating in the festivities.
