- Start by going to your profile. Open the Instagram app or website (if you are logging online).
- Next make sure that you are logged in. In case you are not, logging with your details. Note that you can log in with a gmail account or phone number.
- Now after you have successfully logged in into your account, tap on your profile picture. You can find your profile picture on the right side corner of your Instagram feed.
- After clicking on your profile picture you will be directed to your profile. Then you will see three horizontal lines. You can find them in the top right corner.
- Now click on these three horizontal lines. You will see a ‘settings and privacy ’ option.
- Now you scroll down and click on the ‘story’ option. You can see the ‘story’ option under the ‘how others can interact with you,’ option.
- Next you will see a ‘who can see the story,’ option. There you will get a ‘hide’ option. Click on that to hide your story.
- Now you will be able to see the list of your followers. Now choose the contacts you want to hide your story from. Notably you will get a circle next to the profiles. You just need to click on that.
- Now you have successfully selected the people you want to hide your story from. After selecting , click on the back arrow. Well, you are all set to share a story with the people you want to. Please note that you will find the back arrow on the top left.

- After posting a story, click on the story. Tap on the profile who has seen your story.
- Next you will get three dots beside the viewers .
- Now just click on the three dots. You will get a ;hide story’ option.
- Click on the ‘hide story’ option. Lo and behold you are all set to hide the story.
