According to Hareesh V, Head of Commodities at Geojit Financial Services, escalating geopolitical tensions, a surprise US rate cut, lifetime peak gold prices, and the recent China economic stimulus measures bolstered the appeal of the commodity. A massive bombing campaign in southern Lebanon by Israel spreading war tensions in the Middle East and the issue of a nuclear warning to the West by Russia raised demand optimism for safe assets like gold and silver. A surprise US Fed’s rate cut and China’s economic stimulus measure are expected to prop up the industrial demand of the metal as well.
The rate of 24-carat gold has risen by 1.9% in the last week, and the yellow metal has risen by 3.1% in the last ten days. The silver currently quotes at Rs 92,470 per kilogram.

The 24-carat Gold was quoted for a price of Rs 75,660/10 grams in Mumbai on September 27, an uptick of Rs 130 from September 25. Yesterday, the price of gold was quoted at Rs 75,510/10 grams. Seven days back, on September 19, gold was trading for Rs 74,220/10 grams.
