Bank Holidays in October 2024: Check Full State-Wise Holiday List for Gandhi Jayanti, Dusshera

Info: Banks in October will be closed for 15 days due to various national and regional holidays. Several festivals like Diwali, Saptami, and Dussehra will lead to the closure of banks in many regions.

The banks will be closed on 2nd October as well, which falls on a Wednesday. The bank holidays also include all Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.

Banks will be closed on the occasion of the General Elections to the State Legislative Assembly 2024, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti/Mahalaya Amavasye, Navratra Sthapna, Durga Puja/Dussehra (Maha Saptami), Dusshera (Mahashtami/Mahanavami)/Ayudha Pooja/Durga Puja/Durga Ashtami, Dasara/Dussehra (Mahanavami/Vijayadashmi)/Durga Puja (Dasain), Durga Puja (Dasain), Lakshmi Puja, Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti/Kati Bihu, Accession Day, Diwali (Deepavali)/Kali Puja/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birthday/Naraka Chaturdashi in October.

October 1: Holiday due to assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.  

October 2: Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti/Mahalaya Amavasya  

October 3: Shardiya Navratri and Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti.  

October 6: Weekly holiday (Sunday).  

October 10: Maha Saptami/Durga Puja/Dussehra  

October 11: Dussehra (Mahashtami/Mahanavami)/Ayudha Pooja/Durga Puja (Dasain)/Durga Ashtami  October 12: Dasara/Dussehra (Mahanavami/Vijayadashami)/Durga Puja (Dasain) and the second Saturday.

October 20: Weekly holiday (Sunday).  

October 26: Accession Day (Jammu and Kashmir) and Fourth Saturday.  

October 27: Weekly holiday (Sunday).

 October 31: Diwali (Deepavali)/Kali Puja/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birthday/Naraka Chaturdashi
