Stocks in Focus: GIFT Nifty traded higher as the index was up 48 points or 0.19% at 26,007 indicating a positive start for domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Tuesday. Previously, on Monday, the NSE Nifty 50 closed the session 148 points or 0.57% higher at 25,939, while the BSE Sensex rose 384 points or 0.45% to close at 84,928.61.

Stocks to watch on September 24, 2024

Coal India

Coal India has entered into a joint venture agreement with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RRVUNL) to undertake renewable energy business in Rajasthan. Coal India will have a 74% shareholding in the joint venture while RRVUNL will have the remaining 26%.

ONGC, Reliance Industries, OIL, Vedanta

India’s biggest oil and gas bid round attracted four bidders, including ONGC and OIL, and private sector Vedanta Ltd, with most blocks getting just two bids, according to the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH). The OALP-IX bid round, where 28 blocks or areas spread over 1.36 lakh square kilometres were offered for finding and producing oil and gas, for the first time saw Reliance Industries Ltd-bp plc combine bidding together with ONGC for one block in Gujarat offshore

Firstsource Solutions

RP Sanjiv Goenka Group’s business process management services company, Firstsource Solutions Ltd, said its subsidiary Firstsource Solutions UK Ltd had acquired Ascensos, a leading UK-headquartered customer experience outsourcing partner for retail and e-commerce businesses for £42 million.

Power Grid 

Power Grid Corporation of India has emerged as the successful bidder under tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) for a key inter-state transmission project. The project involves the installation of dynamic reactive systems at Khavda Pooling Station 1 (KPS1) and Khavda Pooling Station 3 (KPS3) in Gujarat, along with the extension of associated bays.

AstraZeneca Pharma 

AstraZeneca Pharma India has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) to import and distribute durvalumab (Imfinzi) for an additional indication in India.

Reliance Power 

Reliance Power’s board of directors approved the issue of preferential shares to raise Rs 1,524.60 crore, said the company in an exchange filing. The board approved the issue of 46.20 crore equity shares at an issue price of Rs 33 per share or warrants convertible into equity shares of the company.

BGR Energy Systems 

BGR Energy Systems received a notice of contract termination from the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewage Board regarding the design, build, and operate (DBO) project for a 45 MLD capacity tertiary treatment reverse osmosis (TTRO) plant in Kodungaiyur.
