Gold, silver rate today : The gold MCX futures contracts with the expiry of October 2024 were quoted for Rs 74,296 per 10 gm, without any significant change.
The 24-carat gold rate in India was Rs 74,520 per 10 grams on September 24. The rate for 24-carat gold per gram is Rs 7,452. The rate of 22-carat gold was Rs 68,310 per 10 grams.

On Monday, “Minor profit booking led prices to retreat towards Rs 74,000, which acted as a buying opportunity. Following the interest rate cut, the overall trend for gold remains positive. This week, the US GDP and Core PCE Price Index will keep gold prices volatile. Key support is seen at Rs 73,800-Rs 74,000, with resistance at Rs 74,500-Rs 74,600. Traders should monitor these levels closely for price movement during the data releases,” said Jateen Trivedi, Vice President Research Analyst – Commodity and Currency, LKP Securities.
The rate of 24-carat gold has risen by 1.6% in the last week, and the yellow metal has risen by 1.14% in the last ten days. The silver currently quotes at Rs 89,060 per kilogram.
Also, Minneapolis Federal Reserve President Neel Kashkari said he supported the US Fed’s rate cut, calling it the “right decision” in light of substantial progress on inflation and the risk of an increase in unemployment. “The balance of risks has shifted away from higher inflation and toward the risk of a further weakening of the labor market, warranting a lower federal funds rate.”

The glittering metal was quoted for a price of Rs 74,520/10 grams in Mumbai on September 24, an increase of Rs 290 from yesterday. On September 23, the price of gold was Rs 74,230/10 grams. Seven days back, on September 17, gold was trading for Rs 73,340/10 grams.
