The significance of solar eclipse plays a major role in Hinduism. According to astrology, solar eclipse always occurs on Amavasya day. The Sutak period starts 12 hours before the solar eclipse. According to astrology, religious and auspicious works are prohibited during the Sutak period. If any auspicious work is done during this period, it will be deemed cursed. Many measures are taken to remove the dosha caused by auspicious works during the Sutak period. The second and last solar eclipse of 2024 will occur on Pitru Visarjan Amavasya. On this day, rituals like Tarpan and Pind Daan are performed for known and unknown ancestors, which gives peace to the ancestors wandering in the spirit world, and they are believed to attain salvation. On this day, the ancestors also bid farewell according to the method mentioned in the scriptures. Due to the solar eclipse on the day of Pitru Visarjan Amavasya, the Sutak period begins at 9:13 am. In such a situation, the question arises of how to perform Tarpan and Pind Daan for the ancestors on this day.

Time of Eclipse

Answering all these questions, learned astrologer of Haridwar, Pandit Shridhar Shastri said that the solar eclipse will begin on October 2, the new moon day of the month of Ashwin, at 9:13 pm and will continue till October 3 at 3:17 am. Sutak Kaal will begin on October 2 at 9:13 am. This solar eclipse of 2024 will take place at night according to Indian time, which will not be visible in the country. This eclipse will be visible in the western countries of the world, America, Canada, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Cook, Fiji, Iceland, and the Arctic.

What will be the effect of the eclipse on India?

As per the scriptures, this eclipse will not have any effect on India. Its sutak period will also not be valid. It is said that the religious and auspicious deeds performed by a person on this day are not to be blamed. The religious and auspicious deeds performed by the person will bring auspicious results.
