The train movements on the Agra-Delhi railway track were massively hit on Thursday after 26 wagons of a coal-laden goods train derailed on the track on Wednesday night. Train operations on the Agra-Delhi route were started on the fourth line late Wednesday night. 500 meters of track was damaged in the accident while 800 sleepers on the track were also broken.

Many Over Head Electric (OHE) poles have been damaged and broken. At least 800 railway employees have been engaged in the rescue work going on at war footing. Cranes have also been deployed along with 12 JCBs. After the accident, 34 trains including Vande Bharat and Rajdhani were cancelled, 8 trains were partially cancelled. The route of 42 trains was changed.
After 26 hours on Thursday night, another line was made operational. North Central Railway General Manager Upendra Chandra Joshi said that the priority is to start train operations as soon as possible. Teams are working.

A detailed investigation will be conducted into the causes of the incident after 26 wagons of a goods train derailed between Vrindavan Road and Aajai railway station at 8 PM on Wednesday due to a hot axle.
Some of the prominent trains whose routes have been diverted are New Delhi-Hyderabad, New Delhi-Tambaram, Hazrat Nizamuddin-Mumbai Bandra Terminus, Amritsar Jn-Mumbai Bandra Terminus, Hazrat Nizamuddin-Mumbai CSM Terminus and Hazrat Nizamuddin-Jabalpur among others.
The Northern Railways has asked the passengers travelling in trains scheduled to run on the concerned route to check the running status as well as their routes before their journey to avoid any inconvenience.
