A doctor was viciously beaten up by the family members of a patient at a private hospital in Bhavnagar, Bhavnagar after he asked them to remove their shoes before entering the emergency ward.

Gujarat Viral Video: Amidst the ongoing outrage and protests over the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar hospital which has sparked a heated debate over the safety of medicos, a doctor was viciously beaten up by the family members of a patient at a private hospital in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar after he asked them to remove their shoes before entering the emergency ward.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera installed in the emergency room, showing the victim, Dr Jaideep Singh Gohil, being assaulted by a man who was accompanying a patient at the Shreya Hospital in Sihor town in Bhavnagar district.

As per the police, the incident took place on September 12 when the accused arrived at the private hospital for the treatment of a woman who had suffered a head injury. The woman was admitted to the emergency room and her family members accompanied her there. However, when Dr Gohil (33) asked them to remove their shoes before entering the ward, the victim’s relatives started hurling abuses at the doctor and the nursing staff.

“When they entered the emergency room, the doctor asked them to remove their footwear, following which they started abusing him and the nursing staff present there,” said an official, citing the FIR registered in the case.
The accused men brutally thrashed Dr Gohil, resulting in several injuries, and also threatened to kill him. They also vandalized the medicines and other equipment in the emergency room, the official added.
Meanwhile, police said they have arrested three men for assaulting the doctor and vandalizing the premises.
The accused, identified as Hiren Dangar, Bhavdeep Dangar, and Kaushik Kuvadiya, have been arrested under sections 115 (2) (act with the intention of thereby causing hurt to any person), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 351 (3) (criminal intimidation ), and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), they said.
Further investigation in the case is underway, police added.
