PM Narendra Modi turns 74: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to celebrate his 74th birthday on Tuesday (September 17), marking another milestone in his extensive public service career. Although his birthday will be observed as a regular working day, it coincides with the ‘Seva Parv,’ a fortnight-long event organised annually by the BJP to highlight his dedication to public welfare and service.
Born on September 17, 1950, in the small town of Mehsana, Gujarat, PM Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for three consecutive terms (2001-2014) and is now in his third term as Prime Minister.

2023: Last year, PM Modi marked his birthday by launching the PM Vishwakarma Yojana on September 17, aimed at empowering artisans through skill development. He also inaugurated two major projects: the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) and the extension of the Delhi Airport Express line. In his Lok Sabha constituency, supporters celebrated with a 73-kg laddoo cake and organized an ‘Akhand Ramayan Path’ at the Hanuman temple.

2022: On September 17, 2022, PM Modi celebrated by reintroducing cheetahs to India. Eight cheetahs were brought from Namibia and released at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh as part of the Cheetah Reintroduction Project. PM Modi also took photographs of the cheetahs with a professional camera.
2021: PM Modi’s birthday in 2021 was marked by a significant Covid vaccination drive, with India administering 2.26 crore doses in a single day to bolster the fight against the pandemic.
2020: Amid the pandemic, there were no traditional birthday celebrations. Instead, the BJP organised ‘Sewa Saptah’ with camps, help desks, and initiatives such as ration distribution and blood donation drives.
2019: PM Modi celebrated his birthday by participating in the ‘Namami Narmada’ festival in Kevadiya, Gujarat, which commemorated the filling of the dam to its full reservoir level. He also addressed a large public gathering near the Statue of Unity.

Party workers and volunteers will conduct cleanliness drives at hospitals, schools, and other public spaces. To celebrate PM Modi’s birthday, Rajasthan’s renowned Ajmer Sharif Dargah will serve 4,000 kg of vegetarian langar. In Surat, Gujarat, numerous businesses are offering discounts ranging from 10% to 100% on September 17. These discounts will apply across various sectors, including hotels, markets, and transport services.
