HMD Skyline with Nokia Lumia-inspired design launched in India

HMD Skyline has arrived in India with a design reminiscent of the Windows Phone-powered Nokia Lumia phones. The company, which now calls itself Human Mobile Devices, introduced Skyline back in July in select European markets, highlighting the device’s repair-friendly design. According to the company, the Skyline’s boxy design where the back panel is attached using a screw. The Skyline also looks like a modern Lumia phone with funky colours except it is powered by Android.

HMD Skyline price in India

The new HMD Skyline has a single storage version, priced at Rs 35,999. Its colourways include Neon Pink and Twisted Black, which will be available on HMD’s online store and Amazon from September 17. The company is bundling a 33W USB-C charger with the phone as part of the launch offer.

HMD Skyline specifications

Other than its high repairability, the Skyline has a Custom Button, which users can program for different functionalities. Pressing it once will perform one task, while double-pressing the button will run a different function, such as a game. The Skyline boasts a 6.55-inch P-OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10. The display uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, the Skyline packs 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and supports a microSD card of up to 1TB.

Skyline’s rear cameras include a 108MP main sensor with optical and electronic image stabilisation (OIS and EIS), a 13MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto sensor. The cameras use the company’s Capture Fusion technology, as well as support OZO Spatial Audio for capturing sounds. The smartphone has wind-noise cancellation, which helps when recording outdoors. With a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, the HMD Skyline uses a 50MP front-facing camera. It has a 4600mAh battery that charges at up to 33W speed with a cable and 15W wirelessly. The HMD Skyline also has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
