NRI Aadhar Card Process:  The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues the Aadhaar, a unique ID card. It includes a 12-digit number that verifies your identity and residence in India. Non-resident Indians (NRIs) may also apply for an Aadhaar card. NRIs go through the same process as locals, including providing biometric and personal information.

How NRIs Can Apply For Aadhar Card

UIDAI has also outlined in detail how an NRI may register for an Aadhaar card. Here’s the step-wise process:

  • Visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
  • Make sure you have your current Indian passport.
  • Fill out the registration form with precise information, making sure it matches the information in your passport.
  • Make sure you provide your email address into the field.
  • Request that the operator register you as an NRI.
  • As an NRI applicant, you must submit a declaration along with your Aadhaar application. Please carefully consider and fill this declaration, since it is significantly different for NRIs.
  • Assist the operator with inputting all NRI-specific information.
  • The operator will scan your passport and use it as identification for the application.
  • Proceed to biometric capture, which includes fingerprint and iris scans.
  • Finally, thoroughly examine the completed application to confirm that all information is correct.

After finishing the application procedure, acquire the acknowledgment receipt, which includes your 14-digit enrollment ID as well as the date and time stamp.

Your Aadhaar paperwork will be completed within 3 to 4 days, while the card itself may take a little longer. Check the progress of your Aadhaar card application on a frequent basis. If you misplace your 14-digit enrollment ID, you may retrieve it by entering your registered phone number. The website also provides the possibility to restore your enrollment ID data.
