Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Jharkhand today where he will be launching six new Vande Bharat Express trains. These trains will ply on the following routes: Tatanagar – Patna, Bhagalpur – Dumka – Howrah, Brahmapur – Tatanagar, Gaya – Howrah, Deoghar – Varanasi and lastly, Rourkela – Howrah. These fresh trains will also give a boost to religious tourism by offering quicker access to key pilgrimage destinations such as Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar (Jharkhand), the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Kalighat and Belur Math in Kolkata (West Bengal). Additionally, these trains will provide a significant boost to local industries, including coal mining in Dhanbad, jute production in Kolkata, and iron and steel manufacturing industries in Durgapur.
PM Modi to inaugurate key railway projects worth Rs 660 cr
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate a series of major railway projects valued at over Rs 660 crore. In addition, he will distribute sanction letters to 20,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) in Tatanagar, Jharkhand, providing much-needed support for rural housing.
As part of the railway infrastructure development, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two key projects in Jharkhand, which includes laying the foundation stone for the Madhupur Bypass line in Deoghar district and the Hazaribag Town Coaching Depot in Hazaribag district. Once completed, the Madhupur Bypass line will alleviate train congestion on the Howrah-Delhi mainline, resulting in smoother and more efficient rail operations. This bypass will also reduce travel time between Giridih and Jasidih, enhancing connectivity in the region. Meanwhile, the Hazaribag Town Coaching Depot will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing coaching stocks, thus improving the overall efficiency of train operations at this station.
Additionally, PM Modi will unveil the Kurkura-Kanaroan doubling project, which enhances the Bondamunda-Ranchi line and the Rourkela-Gomoh route, improving connectivity through Ranchi, Muri, and Chandrapura stations. This project is set to significantly boost both goods and passenger traffic. He will also dedicate four new Road Under Bridges (RUBs) to improve safety for the public.
