Bengaluru: The man not only referred to the woman and her mother as ‘prostitutes’ but also made obscene comments about how he would have intercourse with them.
A woman has alleged receiving “open rape threats” from a man in Bengaluru after an auto-rickshaw he was travelling in dangerously sped past her car and nearly collided with two other vehicles. The woman, who shared her ordeal on social media, claimed that the man not only insulted her and her mother by calling them “prostitutes” but also made obscene comments about how he would have intercourse with them. Furthermore, the man in his twenties made vulgar gestures, indicating how he would perform “oral pleasure” on the women. Since the woman was recording the escalation on camera, he threatened her further by saying that he will throw acid on her face and disfigure her “private organs” if she shared the video online.

“Was driving along Kathriguppe road today. An auto zoomed in from the left to the extreme right and almost crashed into 2 cars, causing a pileup. All I could do was honk and then pass by it. The driver in the auto kept quiet because he knew he was driving like a maniac. But there was a young man in the auto who walked up to me when the signal turned red,” recounted the woman, who goes by “Satansthots”, on Reddit.
She continued, “He cursed me, my mother, and my entire family out. In beautiful, colourful language. He called us both prostitutes, explained in detail about all the positions we would have intercourse with men in, and then showed me how he would give me oral pleasure (with his tongue between his fingers). He was probably all of 21 or 22, and he got angry because of 2 people honking at the auto that he was in.”
She further alleged that the man tried to break the window of her car and attempted to force open the door. He further issued death and rape threats to the women, all while bystanders watched. “He tried breaking my window and prying open my door. With 30 others watching him. He seemed to have assumed that I didn’t know the language, so his insults got even more colourful until the signal turned green, and he said that he would kill me and my entire family after raping us if the video I recorded of his misbehaviour ever got out.”

The woman even shared videos she recorded from inside her car on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The Bengaluru police, in response to the woman’s social media posts, arrested the auto driver for reckless driving, risking the lives of other commuters. However, the man who issued the death and rape threats has yet to be apprehended.
“Satansthots” in an update on Reddit shared that she has left Bengaluru as she is feeling unsafe after the incident: “I’m from Bengaluru. I speak Kannada. I have been driving for decades. I have sent the police the required footage. I’ve left town because I’m that disturbed that it happened right beside my house, and I feel unsafe that even the police is calling me without any context at all at 9 pm to come to the police station.”
