First Vande Metro to launch on September 16 between Ahmedabad and Bhuj; check ticket price, stations, timings, and other key details

This new Vande Metro train will be the first metro service in Gujarat state, providing significant convenience for thousands of passengers travelling between the two major cities and also the first metro service in the Indian Railway network.

Vande Metro Train News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off the nation’s first Vande Metro train from Ahmedabad on Monday, September 16, 2024.

The train, which will be inaugurated a day before Modi’s birthday, will operate between two major cities, Ahmedabad and Bhuj, for six days a week.

Vande Metro Train route

It will depart from Bhuj at 5:05 AM and arrive in Ahmedabad at 10:50 AM, and in the reverse journey, the train will leave Ahmedabad at 5:30 PM and reach its destination (Bhuj) at 11:10 PM. The train journey, which includes stops at 9 stations averaging 2 minutes each, will be completed in approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes.

The intermediate stations are Anjar, Gandhiram, Bhachau, Samakhiali, Halvad, Dhrangadhra, Viramgam, Chandlodiya, and Sabarmati.

Vande Metro train ticket fare

Here are key highlights of the price structure set by the Railway Ministry for the service:

  • Weekly, fortnightly, and monthly season tickets shall be charged equivalent to 7, 15, and 20 single journeys of Vande metro, respectively, as per the fare table enclosed with the release.
  • The minimum chargeable fare shall be Rs 30, inclusive of GST.

Here are some other conditions on which you have to be paid for the service:

  • The chargeable fare shall be rounded off to the next higher multiple of Rs. 5.
  • Normal child fare rules shall be applicable.
  • Additionally, GST at Rs  5 per cent on clerkage charge shall also be applicable as per existing principles.
  • Concessional fare, tickets against free complimentary passes that are not reimbursed shall not be admissible in the service.
  • CRIS is responsible for making necessary changes in the software.
