Delhi Metro: Great news for passengers travelling by Delhi Metro as they can now manage multiple journeys on the Delhi Metro network thanks to the innovative Multiple Journey QR Ticket (MJQRT) system, which was launched by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday.
According to an official DMRC release, the MJQRT is “designed to offer greater convenience for passengers by eliminating the need for purchasing daily QR tickets”. The cutting-edge initiative, launched by DMRC Managing Director, Dr. Vikas Kumar at the Metro Bhawan today, will be exclusively available on the Delhi Metro Sarathi (Momentum 2.0) app from Friday, it said.
MJQRT key features, benefits:
- In a first in India, MJQRT allows passengers a seamless and efficient method to manage multiple journeys on the Delhi Metro by allowing them to book multiple QR-based tickets on their smartphones for travelling on the Delhi Metro network.
- Passengers can view their journeys, including fare payments and recharges, directly on the app.
- To avail MJQRT benefits, users must register on the Delhi Metro (Momentum 2.0) app add an initial amount of Rs. 150, which can be used for travelling on the Delhi Metro network.
- There is no security deposit required for the MJQRT.
- The MJQRT system has flexible recharge options, allowing users to add credit in multiples of Rs. 50 through digital payment methods such as UPI, credit cards, and debit cards, with a maximum balance limit of Rs. 3,000.
- A minimum balance of Rs. 60 is required to travel using the MJQRT.
- MJQRT offers passengers a 10% discount during peak hours (8 AM – 12 PM and 5 PM – 9 PM) and a 20% discount during off-peak hours.

As per the DMRC, the MJQRT is also aimed to serve as an eco-friendly and economical alternative to the traditional smart cards which are currently in use. The DMRC also clarified that the MJQRT account is not tied to a single device and passengers can use continue using the service from another another device as an when they see fit.
