Gold and silver rates today, September 12
The 24-carat gold rate in India was Rs 72,200 per 10 grams on September 12. The rate for 24-carat gold per gram is Rs 7,210. The rate of 22-carat gold was Rs 66,092 per 10 grams.
The rate of 24-carat gold has risen by 0.93% in the last one week, and the yellow metal has risen by 0.49% in the last ten days. The silver is currently quoted at Rs 84,300 per kilogram.
Commenting on the gold outlook Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst – Commodity and Currency, LKP Securities said that gold traded with gains of Rs 180 at Rs 72,070 in MCX and $5 higher at $2,520 in Comex, reflecting optimism ahead of the U.S. CPI data release. The market is anticipating softer inflation, leading to positive sentiment over the last few days.
Trivedi also added that key support remains at Rs 71,000 in MCX and $2,485 in Comex. If the CPI data comes in lower than expected, the uptrend may continue, pushing gold prices toward Rs 72,500. Conversely, a higher-than-expected CPI could trigger minor profit booking, bringing prices down toward Rs 71,250. The focus remains on the 18th September 2024 Federal Reserve meeting, where a potential interest rate cut cycle may commence.
