Causes of Wetland Virus
Wetland virus was first identified in June 2019 in a 61-year-old paitent, who fell ill after being bitten by ticks in Inner Mongolia’s wetland. Ticks are small parasites that feed on the blood of animals and humans, and they are known to transmit several diseases. Since the virus spreads through ticks which inhabits from wetlands or similar environments, which is why it is called wetland virus.

Signs and Symptoms
Well, the symptoms of wetland virus are still being researched. The individuals infected with this virus experience symptoms such as:

- Fatigue
- Persistent headaches

Prevention
In such scenarios, preventing tick bites is best prevention way possible to avoid contracting wetland virus. Some other recommendations include:
- Cover Yourself: Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants and boots whenever venturing into wooded, grassy or wetland areas.
- Use Insect Repellents: Apply a tick repellent containing DEET or lcaridin to both skin and clothing.
- Check For tits: After you spend time outdoors, make sure you always check your body for ticks and remove them immediately. Also, make sure you shower within two hours of being outdoor to wash off any unattached ticks.
