International flight operations are set to commence at Gaya International Airport from October 10. With this development, Bodh Gaya is expected to see a surge in foreign tourists. International tourists are expected to pour in the holy city after the end of Pitru Paksha.

The Gaya Airport Authority has released the schedule for domestic and international flights. Thai Airways will start operations on October 10, followed by Myanmar National Airlines on October 16, Myanmar Airways International on October 30, Bhutan Airlines on November 16, and Drukair on December 2.
Myanmar Airways will operate six days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Myanmar International Airlines, Drukair, and Bhutan Airlines will operate twice a week. Thai Airways will run daily throughout the week.
Gaya Airport Director Bangjit Saha stated that most international flights will begin operating in October. A total of 16 domestic and international flights will operate from Gaya International Airport. The flight schedule will commence on October 10 and will continue until March 29, 2025.
Thai Airways’ flight will arrive at Gaya Airport on October 10 at 12:40 pm with passengers from Bangkok and will depart at 1:40 PM. Saha mentioned that Thai AirAsia will operate twice a week, Myanmar National Airlines will also fly twice a week, Myanmar Airways International will operate daily throughout the week, and both Bhutan Airlines and Drukair will operate twice a week.

Currently, IndiGo operates daily flights from Gaya to Delhi and Kolkata. With the commencement of international flights, devotees and tourists from various non-Buddhist countries, including China, Taiwan, Russia, Poland, Singapore, Malaysia, Denmark, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh, are expected to visit Bodh Gaya.
More than 18 international flights are set to operate from Gaya Airport. The current schedule of 16 international and domestic flights has been released.
