The IMD also reported that the deep depression over interior Odisha has weakened into a depression and is expected to move across north Chhattisgarh, further weakening into a well-marked low-pressure area by the evening of September 10. The system, which made landfall near Puri in Odisha, has prompted the state government to mobilize resources for relief and rescue operations in the affected districts.

Manorama Mohanty, Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, stated that the landfall process took place between 10:30 am and 11:30 am, with wind speeds ranging from 55 km/h to 65 km/h.
