Namo Bharat Semi Bullet Train To Soon Connect Sarai Kale Khan To Meerut; Check Fare, Stations

The Namo Bharat train, a significant component of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor, is gearing up for its trial run on the Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar route in November 2024, according to a report in delhibreakings.com. This 12-kilometer stretch, currently in its final construction phase, will pass through crucial stations for the corridor’s functionality. The initial trial phase will concentrate on this segment, gradually expanding operations to cover the entire corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is responsible for developing this Delhi to Meerut Metro. Aligned with the Make In India campaign, NCRTC stands as a collaborative effort between Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and the Government of India. The primary objective behind this joint venture is to introduce a Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) across the Delhi NCR region, enhancing connectivity through the Delhi to Meerut Metro.

Spanning over 82.15 km, this semi-high-speed rail corridor incorporates elevated and underground sections, encompassing a total of 22 stations.

Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS: Operational stations 

Presently, the operational segment of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor spans 42 km, linking eight pivotal stations i.e. Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai (EPE), Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North and Meerut South. The 42 kms distance between the eight operational stations takes around an hour by road, which can be covered in just 30 minutes with RRTS.

The route runs parallel to National Highway 24, this corridor intersects with the Delhi Metro at key junctions such as Nizamuddin/Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar, and Ghaziabad, enhancing the overall transportation network in the region.

Travelers are allowed to bring luggage with a maximum weight of 25 kg. The luggage must adhere to size restrictions of 80 cm in length, 50 cm in width, and 30 cm in height, making it suitable for personal baggage

Delhi Meerut RapidX Namo Bharat Fare

Standard Class fare ranges from Rs. 20 to Rs. 50 with a maximum fare of Rs. 50 is for the journey between end stations – Sahibabad and Duhai Depot.

The Premium Class fare of Delhi Meerut RapidX ranges from Rs 40 to Rs 100, depending on the number of stations covered.
