West and Central India: Forecasts for Heavy Rainfall

IMD forecasts “very heavy rainfall” for Maharashtra on September 8 and 9, with intense downpours expected in the Vidarbha region on September 12. Madhya Pradesh is anticipated to see heavy rainfall through September 14, while Chhattisgarh and Goa could experience wet spells until September 12. Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada are also on alert for heavy rainfall between September 8 and 13.

South Peninsular India: Extreme Rainfall Alerts

In South Peninsular India, IMD has predicted “isolated extremely heavy rainfall” for Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on September 8. Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh are expected to face very heavy rainfall on September 8 and 9. Kerala should prepare for heavy rainfall until September 9, with similar conditions expected in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana until September 10, and in Karnataka until September 11.

East and Northeast India: Ongoing Rainfall

The IMD bulletin indicates “very heavy rainfall” in Odisha until September 10, with Assam and Meghalaya expected to see similar conditions from September 10 to 12. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura could experience heavy rainfall on September 10 and 11, continuing through mid-September.

For Northwest India, isolated heavy rainfall is forecasted for Rajasthan on September 8, Uttarakhand over the next three days, and Uttar Pradesh on September 10 and 11. Rajasthan may experience additional heavy rain on September 13.
