Mumbai Metro Timings Changed For Ganapati Mahotsav: Services Extended Till 11:30PM, Extra Trips At Key Stations From Sept 11-17

The last metro departing from Andheri (West) and Gundavali terminals will now run until 23:30 hours, extending the service by half an hour.

To accommodate the surge in commuters during Mumbai’s renowned Ganesh Chaturthi festival, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) has unveiled plans to extend metro services. The primary objective behind this decision is to enhance convenience for late-night travelers. Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, announced the initiative, highlighting the significance of ensuring the safety of the vast number of devotees participating in the festival’s late-night celebrations. The move aims to facilitate a seamless commute for all attendees.

“Ganpati Festival is a significant cultural event in Mumbai, and it is our responsibility to provide seamless transportation for all devotees and citizens. By extending the metro train services, we are making sure that commuters have an efficient and convenient option to travel late at night during the festive season,” he stated.

Mumbai Metro Extended Service Duration

The extended metro services will be operational from September 11 to September 17, 2024. The last metro departing from Andheri (West) and Gundavali terminals will now run until 23:30 hours, extending the service by half an hour. Moreover, additional trips between key stations like Gundavali, Dahisar (East), and Andheri (West) have been introduced to alleviate congestion and streamline travel for Mumbai’s residents.

Extended Services

Additional services will operate at 11.15 pm and 11.30 pm from both the terminals. Some services will also be extended between Gundavali and Dahisar (East) as well as Andheri (West) and Dahisar (East) stations.

With this, an additional 20 trips will be added from key Metro stations:

  • Gundavali to Andheri (West): 22:20 hrs, 22:39 hrs, 22:50 hrs, and 23:00 hrs (4 trips)
  •  Andheri (West) to Gundavali: 22:20 hrs, 22:40 hrs, 22:50 hrs, and 23:00 hrs (4 trips)
  •  Gundavali to Dahisar (East): 23:15 hrs and 23:30 hrs (2 trips)
  • Andheri (West) to Dahisar (East): 23:15 hrs and 23:30 hrs (2 trips)
  • Dahisar (East) to Andheri (West) at 10.53 pm, 11.12 pm, 11.22 pm and 11.33 pm (4 trips)
  • Dahisar (East) to Gundavali at 10.57 pm, 11.17 pm, 11.27 pm and 11.36 pm (4 trips)
