Ekadashi in September 2024: Ekadashi holds a great religious and spiritual significance in Hindu religion. This day is considered as an auspicious day as it is dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu. On this sacred day, devotees offer prayers to Lord Vishnu and observe strict fast and the fast starts in Ekadashi Tithi and broken in Dwadashi Tithi.

There are two Ekadashi observances in a month during Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha and total of 24 Ekadashi occurs in a year. Let’s go and check the Ekadashi observances in the month of September:

Ekadashi in September 2024: Significance

Ekadashi holds an immense religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. This day is considered as one of the most auspicious day as the day is dedicated to honour Lord Vishnu. All the devotees of Lord Vishnu observe strict fast starting from Ekadashi Tithi and it will culminate on Dwadashi Tithi. People have to break their fast during Parana time so they have to wake up early in the morning and perform puja and seek blessings of Shri Hari Vishnu.

This fast is considered so powerful that people get all the worldly desires such as happiness, prosperity and all the luxuries and when devotees die, they directly get a place in Vaikuntha Dham, the abode of Shri Hari Vishnu.

Ekadashi 2024: Puja Rituals

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting puja rituals.

2. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu and Shree Yantra also, which is the form of Goddess Laxmi.

3. Light a diya in front of the idol and adorn the idol of with garland and tilak.

4. Keep a kalash in front of the idol and offer Tulsi Patra.

5. Offer five seasonal fruits, dry fruits and sweets.

6. One must chant mantras to invoke the idol and recite Vishnu Sahasranama.
