Varanasi Agra Vande Bharat Express: In a welcome news for the residents of Uttar Pradesh, the Indian Railways is planning to launch a New Vande Bharat Express between Agra and Varanasi Via Prayagraj. This new semi-high speed train is specially designed to connect two famous tourist spots within the state of Uttar Pradesh. The journey is planned with pit stops at four stations, with the documented schedule presented by railway officials recently.

Although the final announcement of the train’s inauguration is still awaited, the Railway Board has given confirmation about the Vande Bharat Express. The Varanasi Agra Vande Bharat Express is meant to bridge the gap between Agra and Varanasi and is expected to become a favorite for foreign tourists aiming to visit both locations, providing a straightforward line of travel between the two.

Varanasi- Agra New Vande Bharat Express: Timetable

  • From Agra to Varanasi:
    • Departure: 6:00 AM from Agra Cantt
    • Arrival: 1:00 PM at Varanasi Junction
    • Stops: Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur, Prayagraj
  • From Varanasi to Agra:
    • Departure: 3:20 PM from Varanasi Junction
    • Arrival: 10:20 PM at Agra Cantt
    • Stops: Prayagraj (at 4:50 PM), Kanpur, Etawah, Tundla
  • Note: The train doesn’t run on Fridays for maintenance.

Varanasi- Agra New Vande Bharat Express: Schedule and Route Details

The Vande Bharat Express is set to start running six days a week, connecting Agra and Varanasi. Covering the distance of 573 km between the two cities, in just about 7 hours, the New Vande Bharat Express will make the life of commuters easier. The Agra Cantt-Varanasi Vande Bharat train represents a first for the Agra Railway Division, making it rather special. Plus, exclusively, all loco pilots and train managers onboard are locals from Agra.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Unveils Prototype Version of Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday unveiled the prototype version of the Vande Bharat sleeper coach here at the BEML’s facility. The coach will undergo rigorous trials and tests for the next ten days before rolling it out on the track for further testing, Vaishnaw told reporters. The train is expected to be open for passenger operation in the next three months, he added.

“After Vande Bharat chair cars, we were working on Vande Bharat sleeper cars. Its manufacturing has now been completed. This train will go out for the trial and testing from the BEML facility today,” Vaishnaw said.

Once the prototypes of Vande Bharat sleeper cars are properly tested, then the series of production will start.

“We will start the series of production after one-and-half years. Then it will be like practically every month two to three trains will start rolling out,” he added.
