Lucknow-Meerut Vande Bharat Express: PM Modi to inaugurate 11th semi-high speed train for UP on August 31

This new Vande Bharat Express, the 11th for Uttar Pradesh, will connect Meerut with the state capital, Lucknow.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the medium-distance Vande Bharat Express train between Lucknow and Meerut on Saturday (August 31). According to news agency IANS, PM Modi will virtually flag off the train, said the railway officials.

This new Vande Bharat Express, the 11th for Uttar Pradesh, will connect Meerut with the state capital, Lucknow. It is expected to bring down the travel time between the cities to under 7 hours.

The inaugural journey is scheduled to begin on August 31, with the train designated as 22490/22489.

Meerut City, Moradabad Junction, Bareilly and Lucknow

It will depart from Meerut City at 6:35 am, arriving in Lucknow at 1:45 pm, with stops at Bareilly and a five-minute halt at Moradabad Junction at 8:35 am, and a two-minute stop at Bareilly Junction at 9:56 am.

On the return trip, the train will leave Charbagh railway station at 2:45 pm and reach Bareilly Junction at 6:02 pm, Moradabad Junction at 7:32 pm, before terminating at Meerut City at 10:00 pm.

The ten Vande Bharat trains currently operating in Uttar Pradesh are: Patna-Gomtinagar, Varanasi-Delhi, Varanasi-Ranchi, Lucknow, Dehradun, Anand Vihar-Ayodhya, Anand Vihar-Dehradun, Gorakhpur-Prayagraj, and Hazrat Nizamuddin-Habibganj.
