Tata Motors showcased a host of technologies at the Prawaas 4.0, the three-day event dedicated to advancing safe, smart, and sustainable mass mobility solutions. The highlight of the company’s showcase was the debut of the Tata Ultra EV 7M, an electric bus aimed at urban cities.

The Tata Ultra EV 7M offers seating for 21 passengers and the company says that it is designed for maneuverability in crowded city streets and narrow lanes. It is powered by a 213kW electric motor and an IP67-rated 200 kWh Li-ion battery, providing a range of up to 160 kilometres on a single charge. The bus supports fast charging, with a full recharge achievable in just 2.5 hours. Key features include an electronic braking system, electronic stability control, and regenerative braking technology, all contributing to enhanced efficiency and safety. The vehicle also includes an Automatic Passenger Counter and an advanced Intelligent Transport System (ITS) for enhanced operational oversight.

In addition to the Ultra EV 7M, the commercial vehicle manufacturer displayed a comprehensive range of passenger transport solutions. These include the Tata Magna EV, Tata Magic Bi-fuel, Tata Ultra Prime CNG, Tata Winger 9S, Tata CityRide Prime, and Tata LPO 1822. Each model is engineered to meet diverse needs across different applications and duty cycles.
Tata Motors has deployed over 2,900 electric buses across India, accumulating more than 16 crore kilometres. The company is also at the forefront of hydrogen fuel cell technology in the country. The company’s Fleet Edge platform utilizes smart technology to enhance fleet management, vehicle uptime, and safety.
