Janmashtami 2024: Madhya Pradesh To Open Centres For Discussions On Lord Krishna’s Life – Details Here

Krishna Janmashtami 2024: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Sunday announced that centres will be opened in urban areas of the state to hold discussions of the life of Lord Krishna. Addressing a symposium on Lord Krishna in Indore, on the anniversary of the Hindu deity’s birth anniversary, Yadav said his government will build centres on the lines of the Geeta Bhavan.

“Indore’s Geeta Bhavan is a big centre for dialogue on various aspects of Lord Krishna. I am announcing today that our government will open centres on the lines of Geeta Bhavan in urban areas of the state, which will give us an opportunity to discuss and debate various aspects of Lord Krishna,” he said.

The chief minister announced that the funds for these proposed centres will be provided by the state government to the urban bodies, adding the centres would be developed to exchange authentic knowledge on mythological subjects, including the life and times of Lord Krishna.

Notably, the Geeta Bhavan in Indore, is an institution run by a charitable trust where different religious programmes are organised.

On the eve of Krishna Janmashtami,  CM Yadav also announced that one village will be developed on the lines of Gokul and Barsana in every development block in the state.

“Taking inspiration from the mythological splendour of Gokul and Barsana, one village in every development block of the state will be developed as an ideal village,” the CM said, adding that besides cow rearing, milk production, organic farming and cleanliness, good governance, sanskars, family values, and the spirit of co-existence will be promoted in these villages.

Mohan Yadav, who is also the guardian minister of Indore, celebrated Janmashtami with around 5,000 children dressed as Radha and Krishna at the Dussehra ground in the city, officials said.

The chief minister showered rose petals on the children and fed butter to some of them, they said.

Janmashtami, an annual festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, will be observed on Monday.
