Caught-On-Cam: Masked Robbers Loot Rajasthan Jewellery Store At Gunpoint, Owner Shot Dead

Five masked robbers looted a jewellery store and fatally shot the owner in Bhiwadi area in Khairthal-Tijara district in Rajasthan on Friday. The brazen robbery was captured on CCTV cameras.

Rajasthan Robbery: A group of masked robbers looted a jewellery store and fatally shot the owner in Bhiwadi area in Khairthal-Tijara district in Rajasthan. As per the police, the incident, which was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the premises, took place at around 7:30 PM on Friday.

CCTV footage of the brazen robbery shared on social media platforms, showed five masked men armed with guns, wooden sticks, and sharp-edged weapons, arriving in a car and storming the store. One of the assailants attacks the guard with a large wooden log and snatches his rifle, the clip showed.

Inside the store, the robbers assaulted the owner Jai Soni and brother Madhusudan Soni and opened fire, resulting in bullet injuries to Jai, Madhusudan and the guard Sujan Singh.

Another video of the incident, apparently shot by a passerby, showed the attackers making their escape in a car after robbing the store.

Giving details, a senior police official said the owner Jai Soni, his brother Madhusudan Soni and guard Sujan Singh were at the shop located in central market of Bhiwadi when five masked robbers stormed the store on late Friday evening, looted goods and opened fire, resulting in bullet injuries to the trio.

The Soni brothers and the Sujan Singh were rushed to a hospital where Jai succumbed to his injuries while the other two are undergoing medical treatment and their condition is stated to be stable, the official said.

“Police teams have been formed to search and identify the accused on the basis of CCTV footage,” said Jaipur range Inspector-General of Police, Anil Kumar Tank.

The officer said the Rajasthan and Haryana Police are conducting joint raids and efforts are underway to nab the robbers at the earliest.

Further investigation in the case is underway, he added.
