Fake SMS Alert! Govt Issues Urgent Warning On Fake India Post PAN Card Messages

New Delhi: An SMS circulating on social media that claimed that the customer’s India Post Payments bank account will be blocked within 24 hours if their PAN card is not updated is fake, Press Information Bureau(PIB) unit Fact Check has clarified in a post on X. According to the PIB Fact Check, the fake SMS message pretends to be from India Post.

Sharing a post on X(previously Twitter), PIB Fact Check wrote, “Claim: The customer’s India Post Payments bank account will be blocked within 24 hours if their Pan card is not updated. #PIBFactCheck: ❌ This claim is #Fake ➡️
@IndiaPostOffice never sends any such messages ➡️Never share your personal & bank details with anyone.”
