According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list, the majority of private and public sector institutions in India will be closed today on August 19 for Raksha Bandhan. Banks will remain closed in Tripura (Agartala), Gujarat (Ahmedabad), Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal), Odisha (Bhubaneswar), Uttarakhand (Dehradun), Rajasthan (Jaipur), Uttar Pradesh (Kanpur & Lucknow), and Himachal Pradesh (Shimla).
Importantly, on August 20, banks will be closed in Kerala on account of ‘Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi’.

However, you can still undertake transactions and manage other banking tasks despite bank holidays through online banking and ATMs. These facilities will not be affected by the bank closures.
