Jio vs. Airtel vs. Vodafone Idea: Best prepaid plans with free Netflix in 2024

When it comes to choosing a prepaid plan that includes free Netflix, your decision will likely depend on your budget, data needs, and access to 5G services.

If you’re in India and looking for a prepaid plan that includes free Netflix, your options are limited to three major telecom operators: Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi).

Netflix, known for its premium content, is the most expensive OTT platform, making its inclusion in prepaid plans a rare offering. However, these telecom giants have stepped up, each offering at least one plan that includes access to Netflix’s Basic plan, which costs Rs 199 per month when purchased separately. This plan allows you to stream and download content on a single screen in 720p HD resolution.

Reliance Jio prepaid plans with free Netflix

Reliance Jio offers two prepaid plans that include a free Netflix subscription. Both of these plans are priced above Rs 1,000, which might be on the higher side for some users.

  1. Rs 1,299 plan: This plan includes 2GB of daily data for 84 days, totaling 168GB of data. Previously, before the tariff hike on July 3, this plan was priced at Rs 1,099.
  2. Rs 1,799 plan: This plan offers 3GB of daily data for 84 days, totaling 252GB of data. It was previously available for Rs 1,499 before the price increase.

Both Jio plans come with unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and, most importantly, unlimited 5G data if you are in an eligible area with a 5G-compatible smartphone. This makes Jio an attractive option for users who have access to 5G services.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) prepaid plans with free Netflix

Vodafone Idea also offers two prepaid plans with free Netflix, and like Jio, both are priced above Rs 1,000. However, Vi’s plans are slightly cheaper.

  1. Rs 1,198 plan: This plan offers 2GB of daily data for 70 days, totaling 140GB of data. This plan is Rs 101 cheaper than Jio’s entry-level plan.
  2. Rs 1,599 plan: This plan includes 2.5GB of daily data for 84 days, totaling 210GB of data. It is Rs 200 cheaper than Jio’s Rs 1,799 plan.

Both Vi plans include unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. However, it’s important to note that Vodafone Idea does not currently offer 5G services, which may be a disadvantage for users looking to take advantage of faster data speeds.

Bharti Airtel prepaid plan with Free Netflix

Bharti Airtel offers just one prepaid plan that includes a free Netflix subscription.

  1. Rs 1,798 plan: This plan provides 3GB of daily data for 84 days, totaling 252GB of data. It also includes unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. Like Jio, Airtel offers unlimited 5G data, making it a strong competitor in areas where 5G is available.

Jio vs. Airtel vs. Vodafone Idea: Which plan is best for you?

When it comes to choosing a prepaid plan that includes free Netflix, your decision will likely depend on your budget, data needs, and access to 5G services.

Reliance Jio offers more flexibility with two plans, and if you have access to 5G, the unlimited data can be a significant advantage. Vodafone Idea provides slightly cheaper plans but lacks 5G services, which could be a deal-breaker for some users. Bharti Airtel competes directly with Jio’s higher-tier plan, offering similar benefits, including 5G access.

If you want the best balance of cost, data, and 5G access, Jio’s plans might be the most appealing. However, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option and don’t mind missing out on 5G, Vodafone Idea’s plans could be worth considering. Airtel remains a strong contender for those who prefer a single, all-inclusive option with 5G capabilities.
