Madhur Bhandarkar talked about his plans to work on the sequel to the 2008 film ‘Fashion.’ The director stated that he would like to do a movie or a series that examines the state of the modelling and fashion industries today.
Madhur Bhandarkar intends to release a sequel to his extremely renowned picture Fashion, which was released sixteen years ago. Fashion 2 is a confirmed project of the director, who has stated that the first movie has ‘all the potential for a sequel.’ He claimed that the fashion industry has evolved and that, in his opinion as a filmmaker, he has a ton of material that could be developed into a series that could last a few seasons.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Madhur Bhandarkar discussed Fashion 2 and expressed his belief that the film has the potential to be a sequel. He expressed his desire to bring attention to the declining status of supermodels in a social media-driven era when celebrities now hold a central position and influencers and showstoppers have taken on the job of models.
“Social media has completely taken over. There was a time when we used to hear of supermodels. But in the last few years, can you recall the name of any supermodel? Bollywood celebs have taken over and have become showstoppers. This is what I want to ask through Fashion 2 – where have these supermodels disappeared? A girl sitting in some small town can be a model or an influencer. I want to focus on these aspects, ” he said.
