NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, challenging the Delhi high court’s recent order in which his plea against CBI arrest was dismissed by a single judge bench.
In addition to contesting the arrest, Kejriwal has filed a regular bail plea in the case, news agency ANI quoted AAP’s legal team as saying.
The high court had denied Kejriwal relief in a case being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) related to the alleged liquor scam.
The Supreme Court had previously granted bail to Kejriwal in a separate case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). However, with the HC’s refusal to provide relief in the CBI case, Kejriwal remains in jail.
