To access the sleep timer, Premium subscribers can sign up, open YouTube on mobile device or on desktop and go to the settings menu while playing a video. Once enabled, users can select from a range of timer durations, from 10 to 60 minutes, or opt to pause playback at the end of the video.
The introduction of the sleep timer is the latest in a series of experimental features YouTube has rolled out for Premium subscribers. Previous tests include an AI-powered assistant capable of answering video-related questions and a lock screen feature to prevent accidental taps.
