Kolkata Metro has announced a decrease in services for Independence Day, affecting regular commuters. On August 15, the Dakhineswar-New Garia line will operate with a total of 188 services, with 94 services running in each direction. This marks a reduction from the usual 288 daily services in this corridor. The operational hours on Independence Day for this line will be from 6.50 am to 9.40 pm, with the special night service available at 10.40 pm as per schedule.

- 21:28 hrs from Dakshineshwar to Kavi Subhash
- 21:30 hrs from Kavi Subhash to Dakshineshwar
- 21:40 hrs from Dumdum to Kavi Subhash
- 21:40 hrs from Kavi Subhash to Dumdum
Special night services will run as usual, with departures from Kavi Subhash and Dumdum at 10:40 pm.
Kolkata Metro Green Line Changed Timings
Green Line-1 Adjustments: Green Line-1 will see 90 services, down from 106. Services will start at 06:55 hrs from Sealdah to Salt Lake Sector and 07:05 hrs from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah.
Last Services at 21:35 hrs from Sealdah to Salt Lake Sector V and 21:40 hrs from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah.
Green Line-2 Updates: Green Line-2 will operate 90 services instead of 130. The schedule is as follows: First Services starts at 07:00 hrs from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade and 07:00 hrs from Esplanade to Howrah Maidan.
Last Services at 21:45 hrs from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade and 21:45 hrs from Esplanade to Howrah Maidan.
Regular Service: Purple Line and Orange Line services will continue without alterations.
