The e-commerce industry is poised for a 35% surge in sales during the upcoming festive season, a substantial leap from the previous year. This remarkable growth underscores the sector’s robust expansion and consumers’ increasing confidence in online shopping.

E-commerce Set To Hire More
To cater to this escalating demand during the festive rush, e-commerce companies are gearing up to hire additional personnel. This includes onboarding 10 lakh gig workers and 2.5 lakh contractual staff, ensuring seamless operations and timely deliveries.
All major quick commerce companies are expanding into new cities and diversifying their offerings beyond groceries, including electronics, beauty, home decor, wellness, and other general merchandise. This diversity demonstrates the firms’ capacity to address varied consumer requirements.
Unlike kiranas, which only sell bare essentials, these rapid commerce enterprises operate as online supermarkets, offering a diverse range of merchandise.

Additionally, they provide unique categories focused on festivals, adjusting their inventory to meet seasonal demand. Having achieved a milestone of 20 lakh orders per day during the last financial year, March 24, the industry aims to surpass this record during the upcoming festive season, the report said.
