Visit Amrit Udyan: Public opening scheduled from August 16 to September 15 – Check details inside

Amrit Udyan, located within the Rashtrapati Bhavan—the official residence and office of the President of India—spans a vast 15-acre expanse. Initially, it comprised the East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden, and Circular Garden.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan announced on Tuesday that the iconic Amrit Udyan, located within the President’s estate, will be open to the public from August 16 to September 15.

To enhance visitor convenience, a free shuttle bus service will be available, transporting visitors from Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35, the designated entry gate for Amrit Udyan. This was confirmed in an official statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Amrit Udyan, located within the Rashtrapati Bhavan—the official residence and office of the President of India—spans a vast 15-acre expanse. Initially, it comprised the East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden, and Circular Garden. Under the tenures of former Presidents Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Ram Nath Kovind, additional gardens were developed, including Herbal-I, Herbal-II, Tactile Garden, Bonsai Garden, and Arogya Vanam.

President Droupadi Murmu is set to inaugurate the Amrit Udyan Summer Annuals Edition, 2024, on August 14. The garden will be open to the public from August 16 to September 15, 2024, from 10 AM to 6 PM, with the last entry at 5:15 PM. The garden will be closed every Monday for maintenance.

For the first time, August 29 will be exclusively reserved for sportspersons in honor of National Sports Day, and, similar to the previous year, September 5 will be reserved for teachers on Teachers’ Day.

Public entry is through Gate No. 35 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, near North Avenue Road. Admission is free, and bookings can be made online via the Rashtrapati Bhavan website (https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in/) or through self-service kiosks located outside Gate No. 35 for walk-in visitors.

Visitors can also explore the Rashtrapati Bhavan and Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, witness the change of guard ceremony in New Delhi, and visit Rashtrapati Niwas Mashobra in Shimla and Rashtrapati Nilayam in Hyderabad by booking their slots online.

During the Amrit Udyan Summer Annuals Edition, 2024, entry to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum will be free for school children. Sportspersons and teachers can also visit the museum without any charges on their designated days, August 29 and September 5, respectively.
