India has issued a travel advisory to its citizens, advising against travel to Bangladesh.
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing violent protests and the ensuing resignation and fleeing of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the country, there has been a huge power vacuum and uncertainty about the future of India’s eastern neighbour.
Meanwhile, Indian Railways had cancelled all train services including Kolkata-Dhaka-Kolkata Maitri Express train to Bangladesh from 19 July till 6 August, as shared by a source from the Indian Railways.
On Monday at around 3 pm, protesters had breached Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence, as reported by Bangladesh’s The Daily Star.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina left from Bangabhaban at around 2:30 pm on Monday on a military helicopter, accompanied by her younger sister, Sheikh Rehana for a “safer place.” reported Bangladesh media as quoted by news agency ANI.
India has issued a travel advisory to its citizens, advising against travel to Bangladesh due to the country being engulfed in violent protests. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has strongly urged Indian residents in Bangladesh to exercise extreme vigilance and restrict their movements.
“Considering the current developments, Indian nationals are strongly advised not to travel to Bangladesh until further notice,” stated the MEA in an official release on Sunday and shared emergency helpline numbers 8801958383679, 8801958383680, and 8801937400591.
