The biggest update of all is the new in-app browser that supports multi-tab functionality, allowing users to easily switch between messages, websites, instant view articles, and mini apps without losing their place. This feature also facilitates access to decentralised websites hosted on TON, broadening the reach of Web3 technologies. Users can collapse and reopen pages, bookmark for future reference, and receive notifications without interrupting their browsing experience, making the app more versatile and user-friendly.

Next, the update brings a new ‘Apps’ tab to the Mini App Store’s Search feature, highlighting popular and frequently used mini apps. With over 500 million users engaging with mini apps monthly, this addition simplifies access to favourite games and services while aiding the discovery of new apps.

Telegram now also allows mini apps to generate custom story content, enabling users to share AI-generated videos, achievements, or leader board snapshots as Telegram Stories. This feature not only promotes new applications but also helps existing ones gain traction among users’ contacts.

Users can now gift Telegram Stars, which are used to purchase digital goods or access premium content, to their friends. Stars can be purchased through Settings > My Stars, and birthday contacts are highlighted for easier gifting. Gifted stars appear in chat as animated gift boxes, adding a personal touch to digital exchanges.

Video messages on Telegram now feature a front flash option for better visibility in low-light conditions. Users can record videos with the front flash activated by tapping the microphone icon and holding the camera icon. Additionally, a new animated weather widget can be added to stories, providing real-time weather updates and displaying the moon phase, with options to include music, links, or locations.

The latest Telegram update brings customisable story covers and Mac browsers. Users can now select specific frames as cover photos for their video stories, enhancing personalisation. Telegram for MacOS has also received a significant upgrade, with a new browser that supports multi-tab functionality, allowing users to navigate between games, mini apps, and Web3 ton-sites effortlessly.
