Ranbir Kapoor had once admitted he cheated on Deepika Padukone. The actor, in a recent interview, spoke about being labelled ‘cheater’.
Ranbir Kapoor has been making headlines ever since his new interview dropped. In the interview, Ranbir got candid about his relationship with his father, his past girlfriends, wife Alia Bhatt and their daughter Raha Kapoor. However, the internet has noted a portion of the interview in which Ranbir spoke about being labelled cheater. In the interview with Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir said he was ‘labelled a cheater for a very large part of (his) life’ but he doesn’t care for it because it is ‘not entirely true.’
Following this, several social media users dug out his 2011 interview with Stardust in which he admitted he had cheated on Deepika Padukone. The actor was reacting to Deepika’s comment on Koffee With Karan, in which she said hinted Ranbir had cheated on him, confessed that he did cheat. He said he did it out of ‘immaturity and inexperience.’
“Yes, I have, out of immaturity, out of inexperience, out of taking advantage of certain temptations, out of callousness,” he told the magazine at the time, as quoted by Hindustan Times. “You realise it now, when you grow up and you value it more — why be in a relationship, why be committed to someone when you cannot be committed? I’ve realised that now. That’s why I don’t want to jump into a relationship with anybody because … unless you have a special bond, a special equation with somebody, somebody who you can be committed to, somebody who can trust you, who you can respect, there’s no point,” he added.
In the same interview, Ranbir said, “Infidelity is the deal breaker… Once it comes in, respect goes away, trust goes away and these are the pillars of a relationship you can’t f*** around with it.”

Ranbir dated Deepika for two years, from 2007 to 2009. Ranbir went on to date Katrina Kaif after the split. Today, he is married to Alia Bhatt and has a daughter with the actress. Meanwhile, Deepika is married to Ranveer Singh and is pregnant with her first baby.
Despite the break up, Ranbir and Deepika reunited on the big screen for two films — Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in 2013 and Tamasha in 2015.
